PayMaya Donations FAQs

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How and where can I make a donation? 

Interested individuals can donate by visiting the Donate PayMaya website (http://donate.paymaya.com), by using the Pay Bills feature of the PayMaya app, or by scanning the QR code of our Donation Partners.

Will the funds go directly to the organizations? ​

The funds will go to PayMaya Philippines, who will then turn them over to the respective organization as recipients in full and on a regular basis. Amount to be remitted per partner organization depends on how much is gathered during the donation drive. Donors can freely choose which partner organization they want to support.  ​

What modes of payment can I use to donate? ​

For the website, users can donate using any credit, debit, or prepaid card issued from anywhere around the world. Online donation acceptance using a Philippine mobile number with a PayMaya account through Pay with PayMaya is also available. ​
  • For the PayMaya app, the funds will be debited directly from the user’s PayMaya account when they make a donation via the Donations Page in the PayMaya app. ​
  • For PayMaya QR, each partner organizations have their own digital QRs which you can just scan to donate. ​

     

    Do I need to be in the Philippines to make a donation? ​

    Not necessarily. Overseas Filipinos or anyone abroad who want to donate to a particular organization or cause can do so via this Donation website. Simply choose the cause you want to support, select one or more Donation partners you are willing to donate to, and use any Visa, Mastercard, JCB, or your PayMaya physical or virtual card to donate.​

    Are there charges to my credit/debit card or PayMaya account when I donate? ​

    There are no charges to your account whenever you make a donation whether it’s via the website, the PayMaya app, or PayMaya QR. For the website, the merchant will be reflected as “PayMaya Philippines” in your billing statement. 

     

    Making a donation via PayMaya's Donation website

    ​How do I donate to an organization I want to support via the PayMaya Donation website? ​

    Simply follow these steps: ​
    1. Go to http://donate.paymaya.com​

    2. Select which cause you want to make a donation to​

    3. Choose one or more donation partners where you want to donate​

    4. Click ’Add to Cart’ then ‘Check Out’ ​

    5. Enter the required information ​

    6. Pay using your mobile number (Pay with PayMaya) or using any card ​

    7. Receive confirmation message via email and SMS​​

    Is there a maximum amount that I can donate? ​

    The amount you can donate is restricted to the amounts or packages set in the specific page of the organization or cause you want to donate to. Simply choose from the list depending on the amount or package that you are willing to donate. However, you can donate as many of the same package as you want. We also advise you to check with your card issuing bank if they have set a limit on your account for online transactions. ​

    Why am I being asked for shipping details when I make a donation? ​

    We are currently using an e-Commerce platform for our donation site. As with any other e-Commerce platform, billing information is needed to ensure we identify the source of the donation. Rest assured that your personal information will be handled securely. 


    How will I know that my donation was successful? ​

    You will receive an email in the email address that you have indicated in the form before you check out confirming that your donation was successfully received by PayMaya Philippines. ​

    Do I need to fill in all the information requested in the website? ​

    Yes. For proper tracking and accounting of where the donations came from, please complete the required fields indicated on the website. 

     

    Making a donation via the PayMaya app Pay Bills page 

    How do I donate to an organization I want to support via the PayMaya app Pay Bills page? 

    Simply follow these steps: ​

    1. Open the ‘Bills’ button in the PayMaya app​

    2. Tap the ‘Donations’ tile​

    3. Choose a partner organization   ​

    4. In the Account Number field, enter ‘00000’  ​

    5. Enter the amount you are willing to donate, then tap Continue’​

    6. Review all details, then tap ‘Pay’  ​

    7. You will receive a confirmation message via SMS​

    Do I need to be in the Philippines to make a donation?​

    You need to have a Philippine mobile number to be able to register for a PayMaya account. If you have previously registered for an account and then went abroad, you can still use your account to donate as long as it has funds. ​

     

    When I click on the organization, it’s asking for an account number. What should I input? ​

    Simply enter ‘00000’ (five zeroes) in the account number field to push through with the donation. ​

    Is there a minimum amount that I can donate? ​

    There is no minimum amount requirement for a donation. You can donate as many of times as you want to reach your desired amount. However, you need to check with your card issuing bank if they have set a limit on your account for online transactions. ​

    Is there a maximum amount that I can donate? ​

    The amount will depend on the monthly transaction limits of your account. Upgraded users have a P100,000 transaction limit, while non-upgraded users have a P50,000 transaction limit. As long as the donation amount is within your account’s monthly transaction limit, it will push through. ​

    ​

    How will I know that my donation was successful? ​

    You will receive an SMS on your mobile number linked to your PayMaya account stating transaction details of your donation.

     

    Making a donation via PayMaya QR

    How do I donate to an organization I want to support via PayMaya QR? 

    Simply follow these steps: ​

    1. Select the ‘Scan to Pay’ button on the PayMayaapp homepage​

    2. Scan the Donation Partner's QR code​

    3. Input the amount you are willing to donate, then tap 'Continue’​

    4. Review all details, then tap 'Pay’​

    5. A ‘Payment Successful’ notification will show on your screen​

    6. You will receive confirmation message via SMS ​

    *NOTE: When you scan the QR code, make sure the recipient name reflects either PAYMAYA or the name of your chosen organization, and not a mobile number.​

    Do I need to be in the Philippines to make a donation?​

    You need to have a Philippine mobile number to be able to register for a PayMaya account. If you have previously registered for an account and then went abroad, you can still use your account to donate as long as it has funds. ​

     

    When I scan the QR code, what is the name that should appear? ​

    For donation partners that are PayMaya’s direct partners such as the Philippine Red Cross, UNICEF, JCI Manila, and PLDT Smart Foundation, their name should appear in the PayMaya app. ​


    Meanwhile, for other donation partners, either PAYMAYA or PAYMAYA and their Organization's name should appear in the PayMaya app when you scan the QR code. ​
